An interactive 2 hour workshop to understand + create collectivist solutions to the trauma we all carry from living under capitalism & the oppressive systems it makes profitable
The workshop has 3 parts:

An interactive group workshop with guided discussions, resources and open Q&A to understand how capitalism socializes us since birth and how we can unplug from the matrix

Welcome to the abolitionist science movement!
All of us have a key role to play in the global push to abolish oppressive capitalist systems and to build a more just, equitable, collectivist, free world. We are all connected by quantum forces that transcend time & space. Humans, flora, fauna, land, water & all matter in existence converge to form one intricate ecosystem. Our liberations are tied. The fate of Earth & by extension- the universe, is at stake. We have ~7.5 years to drastically transform global systems before it is likely too late to save our home planet. So if not us, then who? As one piece of the puzzle, my work merges the decolonized worlds of science, medicine, psychology, & art with social justice theory, history & geopolitics to construct a novel field & discipline- Abolitionist Science, a toolkit for our collective liberation.
How can we build together?
This is a community & solidarity building space for ALL of us to do the work needed to envision, strategize & enact solutions with shared knowledge. Abolitionist science can serve as a framework & evidence-based praxis guide for us to translate the scientific method & political theory into practice in our daily life & relationships. The book that will birth the anti-fragile foundations for this new field is a manuscript in preparation. As a neurodivergent, abolitionist, infectious diseases scientist & clinical microbiologist, grassroots organizer, educator, writer & artist- I also harness these concepts on the ground to mobilize communities. I mentor folks in the process of decolonizing the mind by unlearning social constructs & oppressive norms while simultaneously building self-awareness, solidarity, compassion & practicing everyday social justice to unplug from the matrix. We can do this. This is how we build critical mass to ignite a revolution.

Dr. Ayesha Khan is an abolitionist, anarchist, clinical microbiologist/ infectious diseases specialist, organizer, political educator and writer focused on decolonizing medicine, dismantling capitalist systems and building collectivist systems of community care & research. As a land and ocean defender from the Malabar Coast of South India, Ayesha takes an ecological approach to healing that addresses human health as being inextricably connected to the health of our planet (the land & all non-human life forms). Ayesha's work is part of a global effort to sustain our communities by tackling the socio-political conditions that cause disease, distress or relational issues. As a displaced migrant who grew up in the global diaspora, Ayesha guides people in their journey to cope with and divest from capitalist/ colonial systems by grounding in community, culture, ancestral knowledge & local ecosystems. Ayesha is an Afro-Indian, nonbinary (any pronouns), queer, Hindu-Muslim-Animist, divergent artist, mentor, meme creator, lover and community caregiver.
Ayesha has a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Genetics and Global Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles and completed her graduate training at UTHealth and MD Anderson Cancer Center mentored by Dr. Cesar A. Arias. Ayesha’s basic science and translational infectious diseases research focus on dissecting molecular mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance in multi-drug resistant bacterial pathogens to transform antimicrobial susceptibility testing and develop accessible clinical diagnostics for low-resourced, marginalized communities.
Dr. Khan’s advocacy and movement work currently focuses on police & prison abolition, Palestinian liberation, South Asian minority rights, land stewardship, and building local autonomous community-based food and healthcare systems.
